‘Remembered & Forgotten’

Traces 9 (2023)

Traces pulls together threads of composer and guitarist Jamie Howell’s memories and influences and spins them into musical fabrics with collaborators. Building on Traces 3 - a trio of guitar, bass and drums - Traces 9 expands this line up with violin, cello, tuba, bass clarinet/flute, tenor sax and trumpet. The music is very personal and reflects Jamie’s interest in the meeting points of contemporary classical music and Jazz.

Always looking to base his music around collaboration, Jamie conceived the Traces 9 project firstly as a group of people he wanted to work with. Once this group was established he wrote pieces which focus on the strengths each individual could bring to the music. Four of these tunes were recorded in late 2022-early 2023 and released as the album 'Remembered & Forgotten'

Traces EP

Paul Jefferies & Jamie Howell (2019)

Four of my compositions which take a simpler approach; recorded live in the studio with the wonderful double bass of Paul Jefferies and myself on guitar.

Path Overgrown

Todd Warner Moore (2019)

Todd included an old Tea Thieves number (Empty Page) of his on this album, on which I played classical guitar.

Spark

Todd Warner Moore (2018)

It was a pleasure to add guitar to Todd’s tracks here, and there is also a very special reunion of the Tea Thieves included.

Borrowed

Michael Kentish (2017)

An EP of more beautifully written and sung songs by Michael. My guitar appears on tracks 1 & 2.

Box Tree Sessions

Evidence Bass (2014)

This was a special recording of original tunes made in a cottage outside the village of Ewyas Harold on the England/Wales border.

All The Promises

Michael Kentish (2013)

Incredible full album from published songwriter Michael Kentish, one of my old Tea Thieves band mates. My guitar is featured on track 2.

Prism

Tea Thieves (2001)

The final recording of the Tea Thieves is a more full on studio production than the previous releases. We were really proud of these songs which, I think, stand the test of time.

Primary School Basement Tapes

Tea Thieves (2000)

This live-in-the studio recording captures the band with it’s then new drummer. Raw with no overdubs - it’s how we sounded in concert.

Tea Thieves

Tea Thieves (1999)

Our first recording, done in the home studio of a friend. We played regularly at coffee shops in Budapest and this was our sound.

Vanity Case

Fabulon (1999)

I contributed guitar and BVs to this album before joining the band. We performed at festivals around Hungary over the next year or so.
